Ombligo de Maguey is a 100% blue agave 40° G.L. tequila that has been aged for nine months. It comes in a beautiful bottle that is reminiscent of the heart of the maguey plant, topped by a wood and synthetic cork stopper.
The bottle is also engraved with the leaves of the maguey in a design that is beautifully complemented by the label itself. It is produced in the town of Amatitán, Jalisco, at a plant which has a production capacity of 10,000 L (2,642 US gallons) a day.
Ombligo de Maguey tequila came into being in September 2008, since which time it has made great inroads into the Mexican market, and participated at major trade shows around the world, culminating in its first exports, to Ontario, Canada, in June of this year.
